Celebrate the Flavor
The entrepreneurial spirit that has been the backbone of Lundy’s started in 1970 in Maysville, Kentucky. The late Eugene Lundergan, father of Jerry, Mike, and Tom, inspired his sons to pursue careers in the culinary industry. Together they traveled state fairs and county carnivals selling their popular freshly squeezed ‘lemon shake ups.’ The passion for food that their father stirred within them is alive and well today. It is that passion that Lundy’s brings to every catering and special event today. The company’s growth began by using local contacts in the equine industry. The trio of brothers quickly became the caterer of choice for the most prestigious farms in the Bluegrass. As Lexington blossomed with industry, Valvoline Oil set up shop and needed a hospitality provider for visiting executives. Low and behold, Lundy’s appeared on the corporate scene!
Having had a taste performing high-end caterings at the Indy 500 Lundy’s has expanded its business significantly. The company’s growth brought new opportunities for catering major events including PGA events, ATP tennis events, Indy Racing, and, of course, NASCAR.
From the company’s early roots at carnivals and fairs to executive caterings today, Jerry and his two brothers have come a long way together. Although Lundy’s has developed into a multi-million dollar business, the passion that has driven them has only become stronger.
